Bit of a quick one this week guys because I’m on placement and trying to find time to squeeze in a cheeky post. So I thought I just talk through some of the products I’ve used up in the last couple of weeks.
Okay, so the first thing I’m gonna talk about is the 3 Step Anti-Blemish Solutions set. I’ve always had very blemish/acne prone skin so I thought I’d give this a try but I’m sorry to report that (for me anyway) I didn’t really notice a huge different to be honest. My skin was slightly less red and a bit less oily but there was no noticeable difference in the amount of spot that appeared while using the products. I wouldn’t called it a regretful purchase as now I know that it doesn’t work for me but I definitely won’t be purchasing it again.
Next is SEVENTEEN Semi Permanent Liquid Eyeliner – Tattoo Me, this particular one I’ve had for years before I got into liquid liner and before the packaging was updated. The new packaging has a much smaller brush which is great because it means you can be much more precise with application. This is probably the best liquid liner I’ve used, there’s no smudging or transfer once it’s dried and it comes out carbon black as oppose to some felt tip liners which can be more of a faded grey colour. But I tell you now they’re not kidding when they call it ‘semi permanent’ because this stuff does not come of easily so my advice is to use it sparingly!
The pot in the middle is Avon Care light moisture face cream with cucumber and green tea, I picked this up on a whim when I was looking for a cheaper face cream. Overall I’d say it’s good, smells nice and just does the job really. I would prefer something that mattifies like the moisturiser I’m using at the moment but if you have normal or combination skin then I would recommend this. Not so much if you’re a greasy little oik like me!
Next up is Rimmel Exaggerate Lip Liner in it seems every blogger’s favourite shade ‘Eastend Snob’. What I like about this is that it’s a twist up liner so none of this trying to find a sharpener and then end up mangling the end and wasting half the product nonsense. The colour is a dusty pink/mauve kinda shade and I tended to wear it all over lips as if it were a matte lipstick, this makes it a little bit drying but not to the point where your whole lip might flake off! I’ll definitely be repurchasing this.
I’m sad to say that I finished Benefit Roller Lash, this has been one of my all time favourite mascaras and I will definitely repurchase this again at some point. If you want to read more about it check out one of my earlier posts reviewing it here.
A product I wasn’t too bothered about was Smashbox Photo Finish Foundation Primer Light , I know some people rave about Smashbox primers but I found it to be much-of-a-muchness. Also due to the shape of the packaging a lot of product gets caught in the corners and the only way to get it all is to cut open the tube. Since using this I’ve tried quite a few other primers and I personally would recommend that you save your pennies on this and buy Nivea Men Post Shave Balm instead. It could be that my skin’s too oily and it might work better on normal to combination skin.
And last but not least is Carmex Moisture Plus Ultra Hydrating Lip Balm , this is a twist up peachy-toned lip balm with the typical ‘Carmex scent’. It has a sheer colour pay off which is good if you’re running out the door or just want something to put in your bag that you can put on to look a bit more put together or hydrate your lips throughout the day. Sometimes its nice just to have a sheer balm on if you haven’t got time to properly apply lipstick or if you are wanting a more natural look.
