Alright my lovers! Here’s a few bits I ordered from MAC recently, as soon as they arrived I was dying to use them but I thought I should take some pictures of everything looking pretty first. So here we are!
Being a lover of a matte lip, I picked up ‘Please Me’ which MAC describes as a “Muted-rosy-tinted pink” and ‘Diva’ described as an “Intense reddish-burgundy”. Both have a fairly opaque finish after 1 coat but can be built up to give a more intense look. The finish is definitely matte without being drying and I love the vanilla-ry scent (I’m a sucker for sweet scents), however they do wear quite easily after eating or drinking and leave a line round the edge of the lips which can be quite annoying. But all in all, Please Me makes a lovely everyday shade or goes perfectly with a shimmery smokey eye and Diva is a great autumnal shade and looks lovely with winged liner.
A pigment I’ve been drooling over for a while is ‘Blue Brown’, if you can’t already tell, the name kinda gives it away. It has a holographic/ duo chrome finish and is an absolute beaut, from some angles it looks blue and other angles brown. The concentration of the pigment also gives different finishes, a sheer finish looks more red-y whereas a more opaque finish comes out more turquoise-y blue.
Hopefully these swatches give you a better idea of what it looks like. Texture-wise the pigment is very soft and easy to blend out, you only need a small amount to cover the whole lid so one little pot could last you forever!
This shows a sheer wash over the eyes and just for reference the pigment is layered over MAC ‘All that glitters’ eye shadow (because I was too excited to take off the make up I already had on before trying it out!). If I had packed more on, there would be more of a blue sheen but even like this the holographic finish gives more dimension to the eye.
With the order I got a free sample of ‘False Lashes Extreme Black’, it was a choice of this, ‘Zoom Lash’ and one of their primers. I love mascaras so I thought I’d go with this, can’t remember if I’ve tried this one before but I have had a MAC mascara in the past and was very impressed with it. So if this meets my high expectations you’ll be hearing about it in the future!
Catch you later!
P.S. I wrote this post yesterday but today I did my makeup with Blue Brown pigment packed on a little heavier to give you a better idea of how it looks. I used Urban Decay Primer Potion in ‘Eden’, MAC Blue Brown pigment, Urban Decay ‘Buck’ in the crease/outer corner and Soap & Glory Supercat liner. Don’t be afraid of this pigment if you have blue eyes, I find it tends to bring out the colour of my eyes a little more. It looks better when packed on as a wash of it was too brassy for my skintone. (The pictures don’t do it justice!)
