What I got for Christmas 2016

I just wanted to say in no way am I bragging, I am very grateful for everything I received this year and I understand that some people will have received more or less than me. But that doesn’t matter as long as you are thankful for what you got and you had a good day, hopefully, surrounded by friends and family. I am only posting this because I personally enjoy reading/watching these kinds of posts/videos because I’m a nosey sod!

Thank you to all my friends and family who gave me a present or money and chocolate. (No doubt most of that money will be spent on shoes or more makeup!)

This year I asked for an electric toothbrush, Jo Malone English Pear and Freesia Cologne and I knew Toy Story was partnering up with Vans so I bought a pair and then asked my mum (or Santa 😉 )  if I could have them as a Christmas present instead.

I received the Oral-B Pro 2000 Electric Toothbrush in pink, I love it and as sad as it may sound I now actually enjoy brushing my teeth! English Pear and Freesia is my favourite Jo Malone scent so I was always gonna be very happy to receive this and I love the Woody and Little Bo Peep Vans, I think they’re really cute especially because the right one says ‘Andy’ on the sole, just like the toys in the films had written on them.

This section is kind of books/DVD’s/misc. It probably won’t surprise you to know that I love beauty-related books and especially stories of inspiring women in the beauty industry. So I got Jo Malone’s autobiography, which I can’t wait to read. Liz Earle’s book Skin, which is all about what to eat to get good skin and what products you should treat it with, The last beauty book I got was Natural Beauty with Coconut Oil by Lucy Bee which is packed full of recipes using coconut oil to use on your skin and hair. At the moment I cook with coconut oil quite a lot but I don’t use it for beauty so hopefully, this book will give me a few ideas!

I received two vegetarian cookery books: The Meat Free Monday Cookbook by the McCartney’s and The Hungry Student Vegetarian Cookbook. Sometimes as a veggie it’s hard to think of interesting food to make and you can get stuck in a rut just making vegetable mush. I’ve had a look through both of these books and there are some really cool recipes I can’t wait to try out at uni.

The last two items are Wind in the Willows on DVD, this is something I used to watch a lot when I was younger and loved it, my mum and I sometimes still quote lines from it, so it was really nice to get this so I can watch it and feel nostalgic. I also got an Edward Monkton desk calendar, my mum and I love his stuff. It’s filled with funny and uplifting messages so it’ll be nice to have this on my desk at uni.

This section is all beauty stuff, so first is some extra heads for my toothbrush. I got the Soap&Glory Sugar Crush Body Lotion, Body Buttercream and Body Scrub, I love the fresh lime scent and I’m looking forward to using these to wake me up in the morning. I got a Cath Kidston candle in Magnolia and Jasmine, it smells really fresh and floral and it comes in a lovely ceramic pot with a lid which will be good for storing things in later. I also got the Benefit Kissy Missy Set which includes Benetint, Posetint and two of their They’re Real Double The Lip in Revved-Up Red (I wore this on Christmas day) and Pink Thrills. I’ve been dying to try out Benefit’s new lipsticks and I was not disappointed! I also received Champneys Summer Dream shower gel in a cracker and it smells gorgeous. Another Champneys product was their Bag of Delights which contains 4 body lotions which all smell divine and feel very luxurious. Last but not least the B. Fan Brush, I can’t wait to try this out as I’m a bit of a highlight-aholic and up until now didn’t have a brush explicitly for highlighter so hopefully now my cheekbones will look extra fleeky!

I hope you had a wonderful Christmas if you celebrate it and I wish you a happy new year, I hope to see you all in 2017!

Lots of love

Liv x
