My name is Olivia Agar and I’m a second year Marketing student at Nottingham Trent University and I am looking for an industrial placement in the Health and Beauty industry, commencing summer 2017.
I have 11 GCSE’s all A* to C including English and Maths.
I have A Levels in Business and Economics (B), Psychology (B), Product Design (C) and an AS Level in English Literature (D).
My most recent achievements are achieving two Firsts and one 2:1 on my first three modules of second year.
So far in second year I have studied modules in: Buyer Behaviour, Managing in Marketing and Research for Marketing. I am now studying modules in Digital Essentials, Delivering Customer Value and Marketing Communications. I should finish this year with an additional certificate in digital marketing and have started my journey on the way to being a Chartered Marketer.
- I am a creative individual, hopefully this blog is evidence of that. I also started my own soap company, Utterly Bubbles, at the age of 14. I designed all the products and packaging, I sourced the raw materials, manufactured the products and sold them at local craft fairs. I also branched out into bath bombs, lip balms, lip srubs and had a go at trying to create a vegan ‘shower jelly’.
- I am also fiercely ambitious. If I want something I’m not going to give up on it. Since I was a kid I always knew I wanted to be a business woman and that’s something I’ve never given up on, success is a massive motivator for me. Evidence of this would be on New Year’s Day this year I signed up to run a 10K at the end of May, to give you some perspective I am a woman who wouldn’t even run for a bus but I am determined to do that 10K and cross the finish line with a good time. I now train at the gym multiple times a week because I’m not prepared to let myself down and be called a failure.
- I am very committed. This blog has just celebrated its first birthday, and I intend it to celebrate many more, at first my posts weren’t that frequent but for the last 6 months I’ve delivered every week and I have no intention of stopping anytime soon. It’s a joy to write every week and I feel so proud when friends or other people at university as me for makeup advice or say ‘oh I read that post on…’
- I love working in groups. I am a ‘people-person’, I love discussing ideas with others and working together to develop a solution to a problem. It can sometimes be tough if there are conflicting opinions but some of the best ideas come from groups of people who genuinely care about a project and are willing to argue their case.
When I’m not studying or writing my blog you’ll find me watching makeup tutorials/reviews on YouTube, shooting at my university’s archery club, baking blue cakes or going on nights out in wacky fancy dress.
