(Bit different but it’s something I wish I’d known this time last year and with it being #MentalHealthAwarenessWeek I thought I should write this)

Your worth isn’t measured by your tinder matches
Or the number of second glances you get
Or what a boy once called you

It’s measured by what you think of yourself
What your mum thinks
What your friends think

It’s measured by the number of times you’ve made someone laugh with a stupid joke
The times you’ve sat with a friend late at night and shared their pain
The number of times you’ve gone out of your way to do something thoughtful

Your worth shouldn’t be decided by people who are temporary
What gives them the right to pass judgement?
You’re a beautiful person and at times this can be hard to believe

You’re the one that decides your worth
So put your foot down and show yourself some respect
You deserve more than this and one day you’ll realise it
